FCBD®Style Picky Technique within your own body, anatomy, musculature, and structure.
How to FEEL and truly experience the movements in your body.
How to work with existing injuries or other range of motion inhibitors to improve technique based on your specific needs.

A Unique 4 day - 25 Hour Course
This Course is developed as a holistic, mind-body-energy approach to FCBD®Style, working with the Elements:
Day One: Earth
Grounding, Presence, Lower Body Anatomy
Feel more grounded and present in your movements:
Anatomy and Kinesiology of the Feet, Knees and Legs
Identify, correct, and work with foot and knee imbalances and alignment to improve technique in the entire FCBD® movement vocabulary.
Balance and activate the muladhara (root) chakra through pranayama (breathwork), movements and meditation. Learn how tapping into this energy can create more depth to your dance.
Put these lessons into a special yoga-centric, grounding and conditioning class to help you get a deeper understanding of your unique alignment and apply this to your dance.
FEEL the effects in your technique with custom dance drills that incorporate everything you’ve learned in the day. You’ll receive personalized feedback and suggestions for both the physical and energetic body to help you find your own fullest expression of the movements.
Cool down and restore your feet and legs with a soothing yin-focused closing of the day.
Day Two: Water
Emotions, Creativity, Passion, Hips and Pelvis
Tune into your creativity through emotions and sensuality:
Anatomy and Kinesiology of the Hips, Glutes and Pelvic Floor
Identify, work with and correct glute and hip imbalances, improving low back pain, balancing tension in the pelvic floor and alignment to improve technique in the entire FCBD® movement vocabulary.
Learn the various planes of movement, how to identify the FCBD® movements associated with each and why this can greatly impact the muscle groups used to execute the proper technique.
Balance and activate the Svadhisthana (sacral) chakra through pranayama (breathwork), movements and meditation. Learn how tapping into this energy can create more depth to your dance.
Put these lessons into an inspirational, yoga-centric movement class to help you tap into your creative expression and learn to release stagnant energy we store in our bodies that will inhibit our fullest expression of movement.
FEEL the effects in your dance with custom dance drills that incorporate everything you’ve learned in the day. You’ll receive personalized feedback and suggestions for both the physical and energetic body to help you find your own fullest expression of the movements.
Cool down and restore your hips and glutes with a soothing yin-focused closing of the day.
Day Three: Fire
Strength, Power, Confidence, Spine and Core
Feel stronger, centered and more balanced.
Step into your power!
Anatomy and Kinesiology of the Spine and Core, including how prior days’ lessons can impact these areas.
Learn how to strengthen the core in all planes of movement to prevent injury, safely experience more range of motion and better balance in the entire FCBD® movement vocabulary.
Balance and activate the Manipura (solar plexus) chakra through pranayama (breathwork), movements and activities. Learn how tapping into this energy can give you more stamina, confidence and overall energy in your dance.
Put these lessons into a challenging, yoga-centric conditioning class designed to work your “edge”, build confidence and learn to balance control and release of the core as needed for our FCBD®Style vocabulary.
FEEL the effects in your dance with custom dance drills that incorporate everything you’ve learned in the day. You’ll receive personalized feedback and suggestions for both the physical and energetic body to help you find your own fullest expression of the movements.
Cool down and restore your core with a soothing restorative-focused closing of the day.
Day Four: Air
Connection, Expansion, Anatomy of the Upper Torso
Learn to let yourself feel open and FREE.
Connect deeper with others:
Anatomy and Kinesiology of the Back, Arms, Ribcage and Shoulders.
Learn how to find more isolation and range of motion in your rib cage and arm movements. Work safely through the shoulders to find more range of motion through strength for all planes of movement. Greatly improve your entire FCBD® movement vocabulary through the incorporation of isometrics.
Balance and activate the Anahata (heart) chakra through pranayama (breathwork), movements and meditation. Learn how tapping into this higher vibration subtle body energy can enhance the connection between you and your fellow dancers as well as the audience. In addition, you’ll learn how to incorporate this dance form into emotional healing and the impact this has on your technique.
Put these lessons into a heart expanding, yoga-centric conditioning class designed to find greater connection to your deeper self and others as needed our FCBD®Style movements and performance.

An FCBD®Style Continuing Education Instructor (FCCE), registered Yoga Alliance Teacher and Educator, (among many other movement certifications) DeAnna is a life-long learner who has studied and taught FatChanceBellyDance® Style, belly dance and yoga for over 18 years.
With a passion for the artistic qualities as well as the scientific and structural elements of movement, DeAnna has spent years exploring how these relate to holistic and artist components of dance and yoga.
She believes in the power of these practices to align the mind and the body.
Her love of dance, movement and anatomy also led her to immerse herself in yoga study, becoming a registered Yoga Alliance Teacher (200hr and then 500hr RYT) and gaining a number of specialty certifications.
She is a YACEP (Yoga Alliance Certified Education Provider) and is currently taking her second 500hr training to become a Yoga Therapeutic Specialist through Yoga Medicine.
