Become the Master of Your Universe

When I was little I loved He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. It was a cartoon based on action figures. They were all very muscular, had cool weapons and were unlike any other action figures at the time. Plus, he rode a giant tiger. He-Man was my hero!

But He-Man didn't start out as this all-powerful hero. He was actually Prince Adam. If he ever needed strength, usually to fight Skeletor, then he took out his Power Sword (cause why would we expect a creative name from He-Man), held it to the sky, and said, "By the power of Greyskull....I have the power!" Then a big bolt of lightning would hit the sword and POOF all of a sudden he was wearing a loincloth and ready to take on anything that got in his way.

Over the weekend I came across a He-Man documentary on Netflix and because I think I've seen everything else on Netflix over the past year, I decided to watch it.

One of the writers of the show BLEW MY MIND when he said:
"He-Man showed kids that they have the power to be who they want to be. He-Man channeled his higher self to become the person he was always meant to be." Wait! What?! I absolutely LOVE this. And just like that my favorite childhood hero became my adult hero

It got me thinking...how can we channel power from our higher selves to become the person we are meant to be? How can we become our own superhero, ready to take on whatever the world throws at us?

So I thought I'd share are a few ideas:

Create a personal mantra or affirmation - This can be a simple sentence that you repeat every morning when you wake up or throughout your day. An example is, "My life is in flow with who I want to be." Or something like, "I am successful because I live my truth and am aligned with my higher self" OR, be like He-Man and simply say, "I have the power!"
Whatever it is make it definitive like I AM! Feel it! Believe it!

Visualize - Visualization is a powerful manifestation tool. It can be more challenging because you have to have the ability to picture already BEING the person you want to be. Don't visualize the process...visualize the result.

Write to yourself - I know this sounds strange, but some of the most profound internal shifts have come from writing as though I'm having a conversation with my higher self. For instance, you can write the question, "what does living my best life look like?" or "what is my purpose?" and just start writing what pops into your mind. Don't overthink and don't edit...just keep writing. Think about that pen being your Sword of Power. :)

Wear a Talisman - Many of us have a special hair flower we wear for performances, or an outfit that we wear when we want to feel amazing. But what if we applied the Power Sword concept to our general life? For instance, when I was going through Yoga teacher training I wore a mala. Every time I questioned my ability, felt tired or needed an extra energy boost, I held that mala and focused on the energy I wanted to have.
Find a pendant, ring or stone...anything you can keep with you that's dedicated for this purpose. When you need a little boost or motivation, hold that object and remind yourself that YOU have the power!

Just like He-Man, of course, the power is within us. But also just like He-Man, sometimes you just need a tool to help you focus your energy and serve as a reminder that you have that power!

Imagine living a life where we learned how to channel our higher selves to help us become the person we are meant to be. How amazing would it be if we could all channel the power of Greyskull?! loincloths optional

I have the power!

I have the power!
