More of these kind of hangovers please...

I'm slowly crawling out of my General Skills cave. What a fantastic 10-day experience. I love immersions like that (whether teaching or taking). The daily commitment of both mind and body really satisfies my need for structure and routine.

But I'm also experiencing that post-event crash. Remember that feeling of contentment, complete exhaustion and even slight depression that the event is over? Those few days when you just want to lay around with a bucket of ice cream and dumb Netflix movies? That's me this week. But it reminds me of the feeling after a big dance festival (ahhhh festivals) so I'm actually thankful for experiencing this feeling again!

In fact, a friend sent me this Instagram post today and while the original intention isn't exactly the same situation, I love that she called this feeling a:

VICTORY HANGOVER!!

A victory hangover sounds so much better than an event crash. I love the way this simple shift of perspective changes everything.

So this week, instead of feeling guilty or lazy for taking time off to "recover"... I'm changing my outlook to "I'm taking time off to celebrate!"
My celebration may also include a bucket of ice cream with Netflix.
